Who we are

MBM Valkyrie Advisory (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/493372/07) is the responsible party for the personal information described in this notice. We are an independent legal, governance and compliance advisory company based in Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa.

What we collect

Through this website, we collect only the information you choose to give us in the enquiry form:

• your name;
• your organisation, if you provide it;
• your email address;
• your telephone number, if you provide it; and
• the content of the message you send us.

We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels or third-party analytics on this website. Fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which may record your IP address as part of serving that request.

Separately, in the course of an engagement, we may receive personal information contained in documents and instructions provided by a client. That information is handled under the confidentiality terms of the relevant engagement letter.

Why we process it, and on what basis

We process the information you submit for one purpose: to respond to your enquiry and, if it leads to an engagement, to correspond with you about that matter. We rely on your consent, which you give by ticking the consent box on the enquiry form, and on our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries addressed to us.

We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing unless you have separately asked to hear from us.

Who we share it with

We do not share enquiry information with third parties, except:

• with our hosting and email service provider, who processes it on our behalf in order to deliver the message to us; and
• where we are required to disclose it by law, or by a court or regulator with the authority to compel disclosure.

We do not transfer personal information outside South Africa for our own purposes. Where a service provider processes information abroad, we take reasonable steps to ensure comparable protection.

How long we keep it

If your enquiry does not lead to an engagement, we retain it only as long as is reasonably necessary to deal with it and to keep a record of the contact, and then delete it.

If your enquiry leads to an engagement, the correspondence forms part of the matter file, which we retain for the period required by law — including the record-retention obligations imposed on companies by the Companies Act 71 of 2008 — and then dispose of securely.

How we protect it

We apply reasonable technical and organisational safeguards appropriate to a practice of our size, including access controls on the devices and accounts used to conduct the practice, encrypted storage, secure disposal of records, and confidentiality obligations that bind us in respect of all client information.

No system is entirely secure. If a security compromise affecting your personal information occurs, we will notify you and the Information Regulator as required by section 22 of POPIA.

Your rights

Subject to POPIA, you have the right to:

• ask what personal information we hold about you;
• ask us to correct or delete information that is inaccurate, irrelevant, excessive, out of date or unlawfully obtained;
• object to our processing of your information;
• withdraw your consent at any time, which does not affect processing that took place before the withdrawal; and
• lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator.

Access to information (PAIA)

Requests for access to records held by the company may be made under the Promotion of Access to Information Act 2 of 2000. Please direct any such request to the Information Officer at the address above.

We may update this notice from time to time. The version published on this page is the current one, and the date below reflects when it was last revised.
